Magnetic properties of [Ni(dmit)2]- anions induced by flexible hydrogen-bonded supramolecular cations [(p-xylylenediammonium)0.5(crown
Article Abstract:
Flexible supramolecular cations structures of [(XyDA)0.5-(crown ethers)]+ were incorporated into [Ni(dmit)2]- salts. Hydrogen-bonding interactions between the -CH2-NH3+ moieties of the XyDA cation and the oxygen atoms in the crown ethers yielded sandwich-type supramolecular assemblies.

Structural phase transition of magnetic [Ni(dmit)(sub 2)](super -) salts induced by supramolecular cation structures of (M(super +))([12])crown-4)(sub 2)
Article Abstract:
Simple supramolecular cation structures of M(super +)([12])crown-4)(sub 2) are introduced into the crystals to seek novel phase transitions in magnetic [Ni(dmit)(sub 2)](super -) salts. The supramolecular cation approach is useful to achieve structural modification of cation sizes and conformations in crystals, which gives a phase transition system coupled with magnetic properties.
